I&IT 101 with the OPS - Application Modernization

On behalf of Richard Campitelli, Chair, Ontario Board of Directors of ITAC, you are invited to attend the next I&IT 101 - “Everything you Always Wanted to Know About Working with the OPS” - Session 4 - Application Modernization.

In this session, Ron Huxter, the Corporate Chief Technology Officer for the Government of Ontario, will provide a quick overview and discussion on the provincial government’s Application Modernization initiatives - what they are, how they work, and the important role the IT vendor community can play to support them.

In this session you will learn:

  • why the government is modernizing several of its applications, including more detail about the Major Application Portfolio Strategy (MAPS), and other significant business drivers such as “Open for Business”  and “Service Ontario ” initiatives
  • the role of the Guelph Data Centre in Application Modernization
  • what is the government’s approach to modernization efforts
  • approval and gating processes
  • where vendors can best play a role
