GITEX, one of the undisputed leaders among Information Technology events, is the largest and most successful ICT exhibition in the Middle East and will be held from the 18-22 October 2009 in Dubai.
GITEX grows considerably every year with trade visitors from across the globe, mainly from the Gulf Countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar), Middle East, Iran, CIS countries, Africa and the Indian sub-continent countries. GITEX is the premier international exhibition for computing, communications systems and applications dedicated to the Information Technology industry. In other words GITEX is the Heart of IT Business in the region and considered to be one of the largest world-wide.
Worldwide IT spend in 2009 will slow down from a pre-crisis projection of 5.9% to 2.6%, however, the Middle East will continue to grow faster than all other major markets such as US, Western Europe and Japan. ICT spending in Gulf states (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar) is expected to exceed US$ 10.10 billion by 2010. The Middle East will be responsible for more than a tenth of the world’s new information technology spending in 2009, with companies in the region boosting investments by almost 7% as the sector’s global budget stagnates.
