November 3, 2009

The IDC Virtualization under a Cloud Summit - Payoffs and Pain is designed for senior IT and line of business executives evaluating and making purchasing decisions in the areas of on-demand infrastructure, platform and application services.

The economic downturn, IT complexity/cost and the desire for elastic IT capacity is spurring strong market demand for cloud as it ushers in new economics in IT service delivery. Meanwhile virtualization, ubiquitous networking and far more providers of cloud services has provided strong alternatives to traditional delivery models. Attendees will learn which areas of cloud computing: represent the greatest opportunity; are being widely developed and deployed; and corresponding delivery models are taking hold. The Summit will also highlight those vendors taking a leadership role.

Case studies will focus on how cloud computing can integrate within IT infrastructure and business processes with minimal cost, significant flexibility and speed. Using first hand experiences from IDC analysts and end user case studies, this event will provide practical information, results and strategies to optimally blend on-premise to an on-demand service models.
