Creative Leadership Conference – Making Innovation Happen

November 4, 2010

OCRI presents the Creative Leadership Conference – Making Innovation Happen with John Sweeney, Owner, Brave New Workshop. It promises to be a unique and lively, “how to” approach to making innovation happen. John will lead you in a day of learning, featuring opportunities to gain new perspectives on innovation and to experience first-hand that creating a culture of innovation is at your fingertips every day. John, owner of the oldest satirical and improvisational comedy theatre in the U.S.,  and his team of performers will share a glimpse of how improvisers make innovation happen quickly and effortlessly utilizing some basic behaviours, skills and philosophies. You will get a chance to interact with your fellow attendees and flex your own innovation muscle during hands-on exercises, break-out sessions and a team creative assignment. This event, presented in collaboration with the four Ottawa school boards, continues the discussion started with the conference featuring Sir Ken Robinson in 2008 and the event with Richard Florida held last year.

Topics for discussion include: the mindset of change; diversity; enabling a culture of collaboration; risk/tolerance of failure; and creative style thinking.
