Mobile Healthcare – A New Dimension

April 23, 2012

As the use of technology in health care has become more widespread over the last number of years, it has also meant that physicians are now using various devices to facilitate care to patients. Health care is a mobile business. Embracing our mobility and providing solutions that will foster it, is a critical step in moving forward with Electronic Health Records (EHR). This broadcast will look at two perspectives of enabling mobile health (mHealth) within your organization and how you can take steps today to ready yourself for what’s
ahead.

During this broadcast, The Ottawa Hospital will discuss how the new generation of tablet devices, such as the iPad, have allowed physicians to get back to the patient in their care delivery processes and how this technology has increased the level of engagement for the providers, as well as patients and families. Hamilton Health Sciences Centre will discuss how they have adopted the ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) practice of enabling provider-owned devices to securely and safely access the EHR at the point of contact.
