The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) will organize an Ontario Digital Entertainment Mission to exhibit in Shanghai, and to visit Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Hong Kong from July 14 to July 26 2008.
The mission will exhibit in the Ontario pavilion at the 6th China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy 2008) in Shanghai (Appendix 1), (Appendix 3) , which is the largest trade show in the digital entertainment sector in China and one of the leading trade shows in the world. Mission members will also attend the China Digital Entertainment Summit Forum (Appendix 2), a high profile conference associated with the trade show, as well as other sub-forums. Mission members will join the seminar/one-on-one meetings co-organized by MEDT, Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai and Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association (SMIA), which will be followed by an evening reception.
The mission will continue the trip and visit Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, where strong digital media clusters locate. At each city, the mission participants will attend a seminar (hosted by MEDT and the Consulate Generals) and several 1:1 meetings prearranged for Ontario companies to network with Chinese business people, and activities which we consider essential for market development and future trade and cooperation.
The mission will arrive in Shanghai on July 15th and leave Hong Kong on July 26th, 2008.
Companies from Culture category (content, studio, e-learning etc.) and the ICT category (Software, Digital Compression Technologies, Internet Applications, Visual Effects, Interactive Television, etc.) are welcomed and will benefit from this mission.
