Technology Protection in the European Union

November 6, 2008

The European Union, the world’s largest economy
(GDP $18 trillion in 2007) is a key market for Canadian technology companies. Yet the European and North American systems of industrial and intellectual property protection for patents and copyrights differ in significant respects.

This seminar provides a unique opportunity to gain practical guidance on protecting your company’s intangible assets in the European Union and ensuring the return on your R & D
investments.

European specialists will be in Toronto for one-day only to provide practical guidance on:

- strategies to best protect in Europe your patents, copyrights and other industrial and intellectual property rights

- establishing partnerships to market technology products and services to the 27 countries of the European Union.

This seminar is targeted to IT (software and telecom), Healthcare IT (HIT) and Life Sciences (biotech, pharmaceuticals and medical devices) companies.

Registration is limited to 20 people per workshop. Early registration is advised.

Fee: $40 per participant.

Priority registration will be given to Ontario technology companies. Every effort will be made to accommodate other registrants provided that space is available. Only companies attending the plenary session and the workshop are able to benefit from the one-on-one meetings.

Upon confirmation of your registration, the one-on-one meetings will be scheduled based on your interests, the time available and the potential confidentiality of the issues to be discussed.
