2017 SYMPOSIUM CANADA –
UNICORN CHALLENGE CALL FOR COMPETITORS
Back by popular demand, we are thrilled to announce the second annual Unicorn Challenge to be held on September 27th at the Women in Payments® Symposium in Toronto.
We’re giving four Fintech start-ups the chance to present their companies to a panel of judges and an audience of payments professionals from across the country. The winning team will get one-hour with four of Canada’s major banks to present their innovative idea.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Judges will select 4 finalists
- Participants will be given 5 minutes to present at the Symposium (can show slides and videos)
- Judges will have 5 minutes to ask questions
- Judges will provide score on a scale from 1-10 and provide comments
- Audience will vote for their choice via a real-time app on their phones
- Trophies presented for the judges’ selection and the audience choice
TIMELINE
- July 28 – Call for competitors opens
- August 25 – Call for competitors closes
- September 12 – Finalists contacted (must confirm attendance)
- September 27 – Unicorn Challenge Presentations
CRITERIA
- start-up must be less than 2 years old and pre-revenue
- maximum of 2 presenters per organization
- one presenter must be a C-suite level woman
