For the the CMC the consequences of a continued inadequate supply of labour for Canada are simple; companies will not expand operations in Canada and will place their investments in other jurisdictions. Foreign companies will invest in other jurisdictions that have a stronger supply of labour with a more flexible workforce. As a result Canada’s economic performance will be negatively affected.
