Driven by changing consumer behavior and the convergence of channels and technologies, Digital Wallets are taking root in the payments landscape.  Announcements emerge daily from start-ups and establishment players alike – all touting unique capabilities to tackle this space.

On June 11, ITAC is presenting the next event in our series on the topic with host Mike Bradley, NorthCard Inc.  Mike will begin the session by analyzing and explaining the factors driving these changes, the stakeholders and key issues resulting in a comprehensive and interactive Executive Briefing. In the second phase of the briefing, Mike will host an engaging panel discussion with key industry leaders including David Robinson, Vice-President, Emerging Business, Rogers Communications.

 Mike-Headshot Mike Bradley – Managing Director, NorthCard With nearly 25 years’ experience in the electronic banking / payments business, Mike works with leading North American retailers, technology companies, banks and card networks to develop strategies and drive key initiatives.  Most recently, Mike was responsible for managing Visa’s products in Canada.  Mike drove the deployment of Visa’s chip and contactless cards, new credit and debit products and innovation activities including mobile commerce trials and the launch of Visa’s Digital Wallet.  Mike also sat on Visa’s Global Product Management Team.  Prior to Visa, Mike led new ventures for Bank of Montreal (Internet, smart cards) and managed electronic banking issues for the Canadian Bankers Association.

Robinson, Vice President, Emerging Business, Rogers CommunicationsDavid has held diverse positions within the Rogers group of companies, including senior roles in Investor Relations, Finance, Wireless Product Management, Wireless Data, and New Business Planning since he joined the company in 1990.  In his current role of Vice President, Emerging Business, David’s role is to identify, evaluate, socialize, plan and execute on new business concepts that are outside the scope of Rogers’ existing operations.  Recently, David’s efforts have been largely focused on Financial Services initiatives.  David has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Politics from Queen’s University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
 Jeremy high res Jeremy Bornstein , Head, Emerging Payments – RBC Royal BankJeremy Bornstein leads the Emerging Payments group at RBC, one of the world’s leading financial institutions, where he is responsible for developing and executing strategies to defend and grow the bank’s retail payments business. Prior to his current role, Jeremy was the Managing Director of Corporate Strategy for RBC responsible for outlining the bank’s strategic direction for the board of directors. Before joining RBC, Jeremy was a Senior Manager at Accenture where he led the Canadian Financial Services Strategy practice. He holds a MBA and an Honors Business Administration (HBA) degree from The Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario. Jeremy is also a director of two not-for-profit organizations focused on youth and community engagement.  
 Brian Weiner headshot - low res for web (final) Brian Weiner, Vice President of Strategy and Digital, Visa CanadaBrian Weiner is the Vice President of Strategy and Digital for Visa Canada.  Since 2006, Brian has been an active member of Visa’s leadership team, responsible for shaping the organization’s corporate strategy through one of the most dynamic periods in the history of the payments business in Canada.  He also leads the development and rollout of Visa’s Canadian interchange strategy and digital strategy.  Brian has won multiple awards for his work in evolving electronic payments in Canada, and he was most notably recognized as a global winner of Visa’s Go Beyond program.  Brian has been in the Canadian financial services industry since 1997, as a commercial banker, a management consultant with a leading firm, and as a payments executive.  He holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University.  Brian lives in Toronto with his wife Shelley and their two amazing daughters.
