Alex Benay is a Deputy Minister at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and the Chief Information Officer of Canada.
Prior to his appointment in April 2017, Alex was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation since July 2014.
From 2009 to 2014, Alex was Vice-President of Government Affairs and Business Development at OpenText. In this position, he played a leadership role in Canada’s digital industry, as well as in promoting the global shift to digital in organizations such as the G20, the
Commonwealth Secretariat and the Olympics. Before joining OpenText, Alex managed various teams and programs at the Canadian International Development Agency, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and Library and Archives Canada.
Teresa D’Andrea is a director within the Treasury Board Secretariat’s Office of the Chief Information Officer of Canada branch responsible for Enterprise Digital Exchange for the Government of Canada. She works at the intersection of experience design, digital innovation, and enterprise strategy. Teresa is currently leading on both the Government of Canada’s Digital Standards and the federal government’s Digital Exchange framework. She comes with over 20 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, leading enterprise-level digital projects and programs that focus on serving the needs of the end-users. Marc leads the Government of Canada’s Information Technology policy, strategy and oversight functions. He has had a long and successful career as a senior public and private sector executive in information management and technology.
Prior to becoming the GC CTO, Marc served as deputy departmental CIO and acting departmental CIO at Treasury Board Secretariat. Prior to joining the Government of Canada, Marc was VP of Business Development for a local eCommerce Services start-up. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at MONTAGE IT Services, a division of MTS/Allstream, where he held numerous positions in technology consulting and business development.
