Moving the Digital Health Agenda Forward
This Breakfast Session will provide valuable information to attendees about the status of Canada’s Digital Health Agenda, the priorities that are being worked on, and what ITAC Health members need to know about the job that remains to be done.
ITAC Health’s Advocacy Committee has been working diligently, with members and other stakeholders, to develop on an ongoing program focused on what needs to be done and how we can work together with Canada Health Infoway.
Roger Girard, an independent consultant and ex-Health CIO, will provide a high-level view of the real status of Digital Health implementation in Canada, will touch on the barriers that exist that prevent the true realization of benefits and the need for “real change” to ensure the maximum value from these implementations.
Michael Green, President and CEO, Canada Health Infoway, having received funding from the latest federal government budget, will provide an overview of Infoway’s current strategy, any changes that he foresees and the work that Infoway will be doing moving forward.
Shelagh Maloney, Infoway’s Vice President, Consumer Health, Communications and Evaluation Services, will provide details about the Digital Health Week Program and how the private sector and ITAC can get more involved this year.
Ken Stevens, ITAC Health ISC Co-Chair, will provide an update on the – Canadian National Vendor Interoperability Survey – that has been launched by the committee. The results of this survey will be used to assist ITAC Health ISC on how they might better influence healthcare system procurement processes across Canada.
