Biography of Ron Parker
Ron Parker was appointed to the position of President of Shared Services Canada on July 6, 2015. Prior to this, he served as Associate Secretary of the Treasury Board since November 25, 2013.
Mr. Parker began his career at the Bank of Canada. He then spent seven years at the Bank of Montreal working in its economics and trading sectors. He returned to the Bank of Canada in 1990 and served as Chief of Financial Markets and Advisor to the Governor. In 2003, Mr. Parker joined the Privy Council Office as Assistant Secretary, Liaison Secretariat for Macroeconomic Policy. In 2005, he was appointed Senior Assistant Deputy Minister at Industry Canada. From 2011 to 2013, he served as Associate Deputy Minister at Employment and Social Development Canada.
Mr. Parker holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
