Shortly thereafter, ITAC interviewed and collaborated with ICT companies from across Canada in order to provide the Government with a comprehensive view of what our industry would like to see from the Innovation Agenda. Last June, ITAC met with Minister Navdeep Bains at the OECD conference in Mexico and participated in the first Innovation Agenda roundtable. At that time, we introduced ITAC’s four fundamental pillars which expressed our industry’s views on what is needed to be done in order to create a successful Innovation Agenda. These four pillars are the Digital Economy, Trade and Competitiveness, Digital Government, and of course, Talent and Skills Development. Here enclosed are the four papers which outline our policy recommendations under each respective pillar. We are grateful for this Government’s willingness to consult and collaborate with us on these initiatives. ITAC would also like to congratulate this Government on their decision to make the Innovation Agenda a pan-departmental project and for their willingness to make meaningful, bold policy changes. ITAC encourages Minister Navdeep Bains and his Ministerial colleagues to continue working toward the implementation of the Innovation Agenda and we look forward to continuing our policy discussions going forward. Sincerely, Robert Watson President, ITAC
