Become An ITAC Member!

Why become a member of the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION OF CANADA (ITAC)?

We are the national association of Canada's information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Industry-funded and entirely focused on ICT we represent a broad range of large, medium and small enterprises spanning telecommunications and internet services, ICT consulting services, hardware, microelectronics, software and electronic content.

We can:

1. Potentially help you grow your public sector business

By enabling you to:

  • Attend private meetings and/or dinners with federal government key Ministers and other senior officials via the Federal Public Sector Business Committee (PSBC) which meets monthly in Ottawa in person or via teleconferencing . At each meeting Director Generals from Treasury Board, PWGSC contracting, Shared Services and the Office of Small & Medium Enterprises, report on RFPs and policy issues where they seek input.
  • Attend private meetings and/or dinners with Ontario Ministers and other key Ontario government officials through the Ontario Public Sector Business Committee (ON-PSBC) which meets every couple of months in Toronto to discuss innovation, commercialization.
  • Attend breakfasts with the Corporate Chief Information and Information Technology Officer in Ontario (CCIO), together with four of the CCIO's key CIOs. Hear about the upcoming RFPs here first!

2. Boost your networking and partnering with companies of all sizes

We will give you the opportunity to network with the most senior Canadian people from each of our member firms at Board of Governors Dinners. Attend our special "Doing Business With" event series. Large companies have the opportunity to come and share with smaller companies how and why they need to partner with them and what they are looking for specifically from a partner.

3. Give you the opportunity to have an impact on public policy affecting the Canadian ICT sector

All individuals in our member companies are encouraged to serve on our Member forums or sector councils that address important issues affecting specific areas of the ICT industry and your business. Add your voice in developing public policy changes that are important to our industry while advocating the interest of the ICT community in creating an innovation ecosystem made up of skilled workers, easier access to capital investment, strong technological capability, a competitive tax regime and full adoption of ICT by both Government and the private sector.

4. Enable you to learn industry best practices in HR, Tax & Finance, etc.

All individuals in our member companies have the opportunity to work on issues in their specific area(s) of interest (Cyber Security, Digital Commerce, Health, Human Resources Forum, Strategic Microsystems, etc.) and help create environments for professional development while, at the same time, addressing matters of broad concern to the industry as a whole.

5. Assist you in building your brand, advocating your interests

As a member you will be able to post news on itac.ca and gain exposure through ITAC's domestic activities and foreign market development. Every individual in your company is part of ITAC and can attend ITAC events and workshops at a 50% discount. This means they are all ambassadors for your brand. Several of our events also allow the opportunity for sponsorship.
