New ADM for PWGSC Announced

On January 11, Tom Ring will take over as the new Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Acquisitions Branch, for Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). Mr. Ring will be succeeding Liliane Saint Pierre, who is set to retire on January 18.

Mr. Ring has over 30 years experience in the public service, most recently with the Department of National Defence. Having begun his career in the Coast Guard, Mr. Ring has held numerous positions over the past 17 years, including Director General, Rescue and Environmental Response, and Director General of Federal-Provincial Relations with the Privy Council Office. In 1999, he joined Canadian Heritage, and was appointed to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Affairs and Strategic Planning at Human Resources Development Canada in 2002. In 2004, he joined the Department of National Defence as the ADM of Public Affairs. He has also recently completed a MBA program at the Royal Military College.
