"Models for Productive Collaboration between Industry and Academe in R&D!"
The place where new discoveries intersect with industrial requirements is one of the most exciting landscapes in advanced technology. But it can be very rough terrain, fraught with issues about ownership of intellectual property, clarity of roles and appropriate levels of investment, among others.
Getting the relationship right to produce the preferred outcomes from partnerships between industry and academe is, if not itself a pure science, certainly an art. So, what are the key ingredients that go into a successful, Productive Collaboration? Can you get more results for your R&D dollars?
Derrick Wong of McGill University works in the commercialization group that manages IP and he will share some of the lessons they've learned in building highly productive, sustainable relationships with industry.
Jacques Patry, VP Engineering at SENSIO Technologies will describe their needs from an industrial standpoint and other participants will share their real-world experiences.
So, please join us in Montréal to gain better insight into a complex subject and to enjoy valuable networking time with your colleagues in an informal sharing of best industry practices.
While presented as part of the ITAC SMCouncil's Best Practice Forums, this session will be of interest to any ITAC member interested in improving their outcomes from academic sector collaborations.
