SSC was created in 2010 to reduce costs and improve services by consolidating email, data centre and telecommunications services across Government. Benoît, who is responsible for Transformation, Service Strategy and Design, will discuss SSC's initiatives and progress to date. Benoît joined SSC from the Privy Council Office where he held the position of Lead, Internal Functions (Finance, HR, IM/IT), Administrative Services Review. He was on secondment from his position as Chief Technology Officer of the Government of Canada at Treasury Board Secretariat at the time. Prior to joining the Federal Government, he held various positions in the private and public sector, including Vice President and CIO, Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre. He has also held the position of VP Partnerships and Innovation and senior executive positions in insurance and banking, including Vice President, CIBC, Planning and Development, Internet Channel, and Senior Vice President, Strategic Development and Integration. He holds an Executive Program Certificate in Strategy and Innovation, MIT Sloan School of Management, a Master's of Arts in Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) Economics, from Carleton University.
