Please joint us as we kick-off our new season of the ITAC/CWC Women in Corporate Leadership Speaker Series. On February 24th, we get up close and personal with Janet Kennedy, President, Microsoft Canada Ltd. In a lively interactive discussion format, Janet will share her insights and experiences on her journey within Microsoft to take the reins of her “dream job” as President of Microsoft Canada Ltd. She will also share details of her first 100 days on the job as well as an overview of Microsoft’s transition to the Cloud.
This well-received series features outstanding female leaders so please joins us to hear their personal journeys, their leadership lessons, and why they think technology careers are exciting! We are hoping for a dialogue between men and women on those important topics so everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring along colleagues, family and friends who may benefit from ideas and experiences discussed.
ITAC and the Canadian Women in Communications work together to profile successful women leaders in technology as role models to encourage more women to strive for leadership in this sector.

JANET KENNEDY – PRESIDENT, MICROSOFT CANADA INC.
Leading to the Cloud
With over a decade of accomplishments at Microsoft, Janet has a track record of success at the organization, with a particular focus on the move to cloud services. Kennedy joined Microsoft Canada in October 2013 at a time of growth for the company, which is making a global shift to a services and devices organization. Janet will be sharing with us her experience in leading an organization through transformation, and how Microsoft’s shift to the Cloud required a new leadership approach and cultural transformation.
Janet Kennedy joined Microsoft in 2002 with a focus on helping shape the organization’s Industry approach, specializing in Retail & Hospitality. For the 5 years prior to joining the Canadian team, Janet was the Regional Vice President for Enterprise customers, first in the US West Region, and most recently in US Central Region. In this role she grew the business by more than $1 billion to over $3 billion and has been instrumental in leading the transformation to the cloud with some of the largest and earliest customers on Office 365.
Prior to Microsoft, Kennedy had a long career at IBM in numerous roles. She received a degree in Industrial Management/Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and earned her MBA from McColl School of Business, Queens University in Charlotte, N.C.
