Janice CharetteThe Clerk of the Privy Council, Janice Charette, is responsible for making sure that the public service has what it needs to deliver high quality programs and services to Canadians. According to Destination 2020, technology is a key part of the plan to enable public servants in their jobs. Ms. Charette will provide an update on the plan to revitalize the public service, along with her vision of how technology can change the way Government services are delivered.  And she will take your questions on how the industry can get involved.

This session is a “can’t miss” for anyone who does business with the federal Government.

Biography:

Janice Charette
Clerk of the Privy Council
Janice Charette was appointed Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet by the Prime Minister on October 6, 2014.She had previously held positions at the Privy Council since 2013, including Deputy Clerk.  From July 2006 to July 2010, Ms. Charette was Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) and Chairperson of the Canada Employment Insurance Commission.  Prior to this, she held senior positions in Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Health, the Privy Council Office and Justice.Ms. Charette worked in the private sector from 1996 to 1999, first as Principal in the management consulting firm of Ernst & Young, and as Director of the Transition Team for the newly formed Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.Ms. Charette attended Carleton University, where she received a Bachelor of Commerce.
