Wednesday, September 9 - 2020
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Webinar

TECHNATION is pleased to provide TN Health members with the opportunity to attend our complimentary webinar organized with Canadian Centre for Cyber Security. Erle Higgins, the Technical Manager of the Cyber Center’s CyberSecure Canada program and a professional engineer at the department of Innovation Science and Economic Development Canada, will discuss:

  • the importance of adopting cyber security practices
  • the impacts of weak cyber security posture
  • provide an overview of the security controls required for certification and explain the certification process

TN Health’s Advocacy Committee has recently published their Privacy and Security Framework that includes recommendations related to cyber security and standards.   The recent privacy breaches and ransomware attacks have demonstrated how vulnerable our digital health systems are to compromise. Health data and systems are valuable assets that are targeted by malicious agents for financial gain or other advantage. Healthcare organizations and the technology companies that support them must be vigilant in ensuring that the appropriate privacy and security controls are in place.

We have set aside time for questions and answers following the presentation.
