ITAC welcomes the announcement by Minister of International Trade Ed Fast today regarding a new international trade plan that will engage in “economic diplomacy” to pursue Canadian commercial interests in emerging markets and to leverage Canada’s unprecedented trade access in Europe and the United States. This is exactly what ITAC has advocated. The plan sets five-year targets to grow exports by SMEs from 29 percent to 50 percent and create 40,000 jobs.
