Learning Opportunity: Understanding Intra-Company Transfer Provisions

teleconfereceIn recent months, there have been a number of changes to programs governing how foreign nationals may obtain work permits to work temporarily in Canada.
Specifically, Intra-Company Transfer – Specialized Knowledge provisions have been amended to ensure that foreign nationals working under this Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exemption are highly skilled and truly bring specialized knowledge to Canada.
Like anything new, the changes require a measure of adaptation and is crucial for employers and applicants alike to understand program requirements. Sean McLuckie, Sarah Finall and Shannon Fraser, senior immigration officials with the Canadian High Commission in Delhi and the Consulate General of Canada in Bangalore, have generously offered to participate in teleconference with ITAC members on March 17 to discuss and answer some of the questions raised and to offer practical guidance to employers seeking to access foreign workers, especially in India.
Teleconference details are below. (Please note that in consideration of the time difference between India and Canada, this teleconference will have an early start and last for one hour only.)
