Microsoft Announces New Vancouver Innovation Centre

microsoft-logoOn May 1, Microsoft announced plans to establish a new training and development facility in Vancouver’s Pacific Centre by late 2015.

The Microsoft Canada Excellence Centre will create approximately 400 new jobs, provide 50 internships annually to computer science and engineering students in Canada, and generate more than $180 million in new economic activity.

“Vancouver is a vibrant international hub for technology development,” said Microsoft Canada President Janet Kennedy. “This investment will enable us to create a world-class centre of training and innovation that will have a positive ripple effect across the local, provincial, and national economy.”
