We know that our sector is already running at full employment and the number of unfilled jobs will grow to 106,000 in 2016. As a result ITAC is looking at ways to increase the number of engineering, mathematics, and science graduates to grow the talent pool. We need to increase the number of ICT professionals locally. This has to begin in our schools and through greater diversity within the ICT sector. Growth in the number of ICT professionals immigrating to Canada should also be encouraged and supported.
